Why we are bringing Dr. Ambedkar's work together
His writings, speeches and records are scattered across libraries, archives and PDFs. This website is an effort to gather them in one place — free for everyone.

Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar wrote and spoke for more than forty years — about caste, economics, law, religion, democracy, the rights of women and workers, and the Constitution of India. Few people in modern history left behind so much careful thought.
Yet if you try to read his work today, you quickly find it is spread across many places: large government PDFs, university exhibitions, museum collections, old newspapers, memorial buildings and books that are hard to find.
The government agrees
This is not just our impression. In 2026 India’s Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment set a challenge for the Smart India Hackathon. Its brief says Dr. Ambedkar’s writings, speeches and records are “spread across libraries, memorials, archives, and fragmented digital sources” SIH 2026 problem statement SIH26096.
What this website does
- Tells his whole life as a story — from the world he was born into, through his struggle for education, his movements, the Constitution and his embrace of Buddhism, to the legacy that continues today.
- Shows the source of every fact, with a small link right next to it, so you can always check.
- Puts his collected works online page by page. All 17 volumes of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar: Writings and Speeches, published by the Government of India, can be read and searched here, with a link back to the original page of the official PDF.
- Catalogues everything he wrote — and, for work that has never been put online, tells you which library or archive holds the original.
- Makes the Constitution of India easy to understand — what it promises, the articles he fought for, and the official text to download.
